BASEBALL Mavericks League: The independent Mavericks League started its 2025 season last weekend and again consists of four teams called the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes, Campesinos de Salem-Keizer, Salem Senators and Portland Mavericks. NWL Everett AquaSox Thrown off his regularly scheduled Saturday routine, Jurrangelo Cijntje didn't flinch. The Mariners' switch-pitching prospect got his weekend start for High-A Everett pushed back a day into the first contest of Sunday's doubleheader, and he carried a no-hit bid into his final frame while twirling a career-high six innings. Wind Surge Reclaims First Place in Texas League North in Shootout with Travelers

TL Wichita Wind Surge WICHITA, Kan. - Jorel Ortega homered twice and the first seven Wind Surge hitters all reached and scored in the seventh inning of a 15-7 victory over the Arkansas Travelers at Equity Bank Park. The Wind Surge scored multiple runs in three different innings along the way to their second straight win. Norfolk Walks Off For Second Time In Series

IL Norfolk Tides NORFOLK, Va - The Norfolk Tides (16-28) defeated the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp (28-17), 6-5, on Sunday at Harbor Park. That concludes the homestand, with Norfolk finishing the series with two walk-off wins on the week. It was Norfolk that got out in front first, starting with Coby Mayo's seventh home run of the season.
