- The Lethbridge Hurricanes Hockey Club have announced the resignation of General Manager Peter Anholt, effective immediately.
"After a WHL disciplinary investigation, the Lethbridge Hurricanes have accepted the resignation of General Manager Peter Anholt. It was mutually determined that this is the best path forward following the conclusion of the investigation.
The claim alleged Anholt breached the WHL Standard of Conduct with respect to threatening and intimidating language.

The Lethbridge Hurricanes announced today the resignation of Peter Anholt, General Manager, effective immediately, following more than 11 seasons with the Club. Anholt joined the Hurricanes as Assistant General Manager prior to the start of the 2014-15 season, before taking over as General Manager and Head Coach in December 2014.

January 9, 2026 - Swift Current, SK - The Swift Current Broncos have added 2005-born forward Trae Johnson to the roster.
Johnson has spent the 2025-26 season with the Victoria Grizzlies of the BCHL, recording seven goals and 12 assists in 29 games. He brings significant WHL experience, having appeared in more than 250 games with the Brandon Wheat Kings, Kelowna Rockets, and Lethbridge Hurricanes.

January 9, 2026 - WENATCHEE, Wash. - The Moose Jaw Warriors have embarked on their six-game American road trip that kicks off tonight against the Wenatchee Wild.
In their last game at home before their road trip, the Warriors fell 5-1 to the Medicine Hat Tigers. Colt Carter is credited with the only Warriors goal in the loss; it came late in the first period on the power play. This goal marked Carter's first goal since October 4.
