Oil Kings Recall Marsh and Schollar
January 16, 2026 - Edmonton, Alta. - The Edmonton Oil Kings announced today that they have recalled 2009-born forward Jensen Marsh and 2009-born goaltender Rail Schollar.
Marsh, out of Cochrane, Alta., re-joins the Oil Kings from the Drumheller Dragons of the AJHL. He has played 27 games with the Dragons this season, scoring 11 goals and adding six assists for 17 points. The 2024 second round pick has played 12 career games with the Oil Kings, scoring one goal and adding four assists for five points.

Oil Kings Head to Medicine Hat for Rematch with Tigers
January 16, 2026 - Medicine Hat, Alta. - The Edmonton Oil Kings are on the road tonight looking for some revenge on one of their division rivals as they take on the Medicine Hat Tigers.
The two clubs just met recently on Wednesday in an emotional affair that saw the Tigers win 3-2 in a shootout despite the Oil Kings outshooting the Tigers 39-23 in the game. Landon Hanson and Kayden Stroeder each scored for Edmonton, while the Tigers earned goals from Jonas Woo and Kade Stengrim.

Stingers 2026 Schedule Set
January 15, 2026 - (Edmonton) - The Edmonton Stingers of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) have announced dates for their 2026 schedule. The schedule will feature 24 regular season games, and fans can experience 12 home games at the Edmonton EXPO Centre from early May to August.
For the second straight year, the Stingers will help tip-off the CEBL schedule, as they open the league's eighth season on Saturday, May 9th at 1:30 PM in a home game against the Winnipeg Sea Bears.

Oil Kings Fall in Shootout in Spirited Affair with Tigers
January 15, 2026 - Edmonton, Alta. - The Edmonton Oil Kings dropped a close contest with the Medicine Hat Tigers on Wednesday night at Rogers Place by a 3-2 score in the shootout.
Edmonton dominated for a large portion of the game, outshooting the Tigers 18-7 in the first, 14-2 in the second, and 39-23 overall in the hockey game.
