Oil Kings Re-Assign Hejda to NAX U18

February 10, 2026 - Edmonton, Alta. - The Edmonton Oil Kings announced today that they have re-assigned 2009-born defenceman Matheas Hejda. Hejda will re-join the Northern Alberta Xtreme U18 Prep squad where he has 13 points in 25 games. Sotheran Named WHL Player of the Week

February 9, 2026 - Edmonton, Alta. - The Western Hockey League announced today that Oil Kings Defenceman Carter Sotheran has been named the league's Player of the Week. The 20-year-old Sotheran had a superb pair of games this week as he tallied four goals and three assists for seven points as the Oil Kings defeated the Medicine Hat Tigers and Moose Jaw Warriors. Sotheran Adds Name to History Books in Win over Moose Jaw

February 6, 2026 - Edmonton, Alta. - Carter Sotheran had five points on Friday night at Rogers Place as the Edmonton Oil Kings defeated the Moose Jaw Warriors 11-4. The night will be in Edmonton Oil Kings record books for a while as Sotheran became the second defenceman in Oil Kings history to record a hat-trick, and first since Ashton Sautner did in against Saskatoon on November 11, 2014.
