Spirit Announce Offseason Updates to Hockey Operations Department

OHL Saginaw Spirit July 26, 2024 - Saginaw, Mich. - Spirit general manager Dave Drinkill announced Friday afternoon several updates to the team's hockey operations department, including contract extensions, title changes, and a new goaltending coach. Kevin Delamarter has been added as the team's goaltending coach ahead of the 2024-2025 season. From Albion, Mich., Delamarter joins the Spirit after Rick Ice's departure for the Arizona Jr. Coyotes. WHL Spokane Chiefs July 25, 2024 - Spokane, Wash. - The Spokane Chiefs have announced that 20-year-old forward Ben Bonni has cleared waivers and will not return to the team for the 2024-25 season. "Today was extremely difficult to inform Ben that he would not be returning to Spokane," Chiefs General Manager Matt Bardsley said. Hurricanes Announce Bid for 2026 Memorial Cup

WHL Lethbridge Hurricanes July 25, 2024 - LETHBRIDGE, AB - The Lethbridge Hurricanes Hockey Club officially announced on Thursday their intention to bid to serve as the host team for the 2026 Memorial Cup at the Lethbridge Sportsplex. In 2026, it will mark the 106th edition of the Memorial Cup tournament. The Memorial Cup is the national championship for the Canadian Hockey League, having been awarded since 1919. Pats Acquire Babcock from Blades

WHL Regina Pats July 25, 2024 - Regina, Sask. - The Regina Pats have acquired 2004-born defenceman John Babcock from the Saskatoon Blades in exchange for a 2025 fourth-round pick and a 2028 sixth-round pick. Babcock, 20, split the 2023-2024 season with the Kelowna Rockets and Saskatoon Blades, recording 17 points (4G-13A) in 64 games. The North Vancouver, B.C., product has 189 career WHL games under his belt since the 2020-2021 season, picking up 51 points (8G-43A), and a plus-minus rating of +43.
