January 23, 2025 - NOTES FROM THE GAME - Jacob Newcombe's empty net goal completed a hat trick and four point night for the Cape Breton captain as the Eagles topped the Gatineau Olympiques 5-3 Thursday night. Mooseheads Snap Year-Long Drought vs Titan

January 23, 2025 - The Mooseheads exercised the demons against the Acadie-Bathurst Titan on Thursday night at Scotiabank Centre, where they snapped a 12-game losing streak to their division rivals with a commanding 4-1 victory. Braeden MacPhee scored a pair of power play goals while Quinn Kennedy had a big night with a goal and two assists to give the Herd their first win over the Titan since January 3rd, 2024. Many QMJHL Alumni Lead Canada to Gold

January 23, 2025 - A total of ten former QMJHL players skated away from the 2025 FISU World University Winter Games with a gold medal. Canada's representatives defeated Slovakia by a 3-1 score in the tournament Final on Wednesday evening at the Pala Tazzoli in Turin, Italy. This was the second consecutive gold medal for the Canadian team, which had defeated the United States by a 7-2 score at the 2023 Games. Nate Tivey Named 23rd Captain in Sea Dogs History

January 23, 2025 - SAINT JOHN - The Saint John Sea Dogs have named defenceman Nate Tivey the 23rd captain in franchise history, the team announced on Thursday. Tivey, a 20-year-old from Burlington, Ontario, is in his third season in the QMJHL and has a team-leading 30 points (five goals, 25 assists) in 40 games. Last season Tivey totaled 27 points (four goals, 23 assists) in 64 games.
