June 30, 2026 - SAINT JOHN, N.B. - The Saint John Sea Dogs made three selections in the 2026 Canadian Hockey League Import Draft on Tuesday.
Seventeen-year-old Czech forward Matyáš Čančík was the team's first selection, 14th overall. The five-foot-nine, 172-pound winger recorded 44 points (22 goals, 22 assists) in 23 games with Bílí Tygři Liberec's U17 team and added eight points (one goal, seven assists) in 12 games with the club's U20 team. June 30, 2026 - The Halifax Mooseheads landed their targeted player in the CHL Import Draft on Tuesday when they selected Austrian centre Paul Sintschnig second overall. The Herd traded up from 20th overall on Monday in a deal with Baie-Comeau to secure the talented 17-year-old.
Sintschnig will be entering his NHL Draft eligible season and played at several levels in 2025-26 including 32 games with Villacher SV of the ICEHL - the premier professional hockey league in Austria. He also suited up for Austria in the World Junior - Division 1... Full Story
June 29, 2026 - Halifax Mooseheads General Manager Cam Russell swung a trade with Baie-Comeau on Monday morning to acquire the second overall pick in the 2026 CHL Import Draft. The bold move will help Halifax land the player they have targeted to be part of an exciting roster heading into the 2026-27 season.
In exchange for the second overall pick in Tuesday's draft, the Herd surrendered the 20th overall pick in the draft as well as 2027 second (originally owned by Moncton) and third round picks in the QMJHL Entry Draft.

June 29, 2026 - It was an incredible weekend for a pair of Halifax Mooseheads forwards who had their names called at the 2026 NHL Entry Draft in Buffalo, NY. Oleg Kulebiakin was selected by the Tampa Bay Lightning early in the day on Saturday as the Bolts took him in the Second Round with the 52nd overall pick. Shawn Carrier, who was passed over in his first year of eligibility, landed with the Colorado Avalanche in the Seventh Round with the 195th overall pick.
