Eagles Cam Squires Signs with New Jersey Devils

QMJHL Cape Breton Eagles July 19, 2024 - The New Jersey Devils announced today the signing of Cape Breton Eagles forward Cam Squires to a three-year, entry-level contract. Squires, 19, was drafted in the fourth round, 122nd overall by the Devils in the 2023 NHL entry draft and recently put up a career-high 72 points in 66 games during his second season with the Eagles this year. Eagles Dr. RJ MacKenzie Named to Team Canada World Junior Staff

QMJHL Cape Breton Eagles July 4, 2024 - The Cape Breton Eagles own Dr. RJ Mackenzie has been named team physician for Canada's National Junior Team at the 2025 IIHF World Junior Championship taking place in Ottawa this December. This will be Dr. MacKenzie's third straight world juniors, after holding the same position for Canada at the 2024 tournament in Sweden, as well as the 2023 tournament in Halifax and Moncton when Canada won gold. QMJHL Cape Breton Eagles July 2, 2024 - It was a big weekend for the Cape Breton Eagles at the 2024 NHL Entry Draft this past weekend in Las Vegas, Nevada. 18-year-old defenceman Tomas Lavoie was chosen in the third round, 89th overall by the newest NHL franchise, the Utah Hockey Club. Lavoie was the second highest drafted player from the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League in this year's draft after being projected by central scouting to be chosen between the second and fourth rounds throughout the season. QMJHL Cape Breton Eagles June 29, 2024 - This afternoon, defenceman Tomas Lavoie and goaltender Jakub Milota were both chosen during the 2024 NHL Entry Draft which was taking place in Las Vegas, Nevada. 18-year-old Lavoie was chosen in the 3rd round, 89th overall by the Utah Hockey Club.
