Eagles Select Mikhail Nizovkin in CHL Import Draft

June 30, 2020 - SYDNEY- The Cape Breton Eagles have selected 2003 born Russian forward Mikhail Nizovkin with the 44th choice in the 2020 CHL Import Draft. The 5'10, 163 pound forward played the 2019-20 season with the Vityaz Podolsk program in Russia. He notched 44 points in 25 games at the Under 17 level and 34 points in 12 games playing with the Under 18 team. The Eagles passed on the 104th selection, as Czech forward Ivan Ivan has indicated he wants to return for a second QMJHL season with Cape Breton.... Full Story

Langlois Selected to National Under-18 Camp

June 11, 2020 - SYDNEY - Cape Breton Eagles defenseman Jérémy Langlois was selected for Hockey Canada's Selection camp for the annual Hlinka Gretzky Cup. The annual international tournament matches the best Under 18 players from the top nations around the world each August. June 8, 2020 - SYDNEY - Cape Breton Eagles first round draft pick Nicolas Ruccia is one of 23 goaltenders who has named to Hockey Canada's Program of Excellence goaltending camp. 12 goaltenders were selected in the Under-17 category, five of whom were chosen in this past weekend's QMJHL draft. The virtual camp will take place from June 9th to June 12th and will focus on goaltender development and evaluation through online education. Eagles Choose Two Connecticut Forwards in QMJHL's American Draft

June 8, 2020 - SYDNEY - The Cape Breton Eagles have selected two forwards from the Brunswick School Bruins of Connecticut in today's QMJHL American Draft. In the first round, the Eagles chose centre Connor Welsh 15th overall. In the second round the Eagles selected winger Beanie Richter with the 33rd choice. Welsh, 5'9, 145 pounds, notched 20 points in 31 games in 2019-20. Richter, 6', 160 collected 19 points in 31 games last season. Both players were born in 2004. The American Draft follows the annua...
