Eagles Hire Bill McDougall as Assistant Coach

August 30, 2024 - The Cape Breton Eagles announced today the hiring of New Waterford's Bill McDougall as assistant coach for the 2024-2025 season. McDougall, 58, has been acting as a special instructor for this year's training camp at Centre 200 and will now assume a new role as part of the club's coaching staff. A former Calder Cup champion with the Cape Breton Oilers, McDougall will act as the club's "eye in the sky" this season, working games from the press box area and reporting what he's seeing from above to the rest of the coachin... Eagles Name Olivier Bélanger Club Head Scout

August 27, 2024 - On Tuesday, Eagles general manager Sylvain Couturier announced current Quebec scout Olivier Bélanger has been named the club's director of scouting & hockey operations. Belanger, has been an amateur scout with the Eagles since the 2019-20 season and also serves as Assistant General Manager for Longueuil Collège-Français in the QJHL. August 26, 2024 - Introducing your 2024-2025 Cape Breton Eagles. This year's Eagles squad is destined to be one of the most exciting in franchise history. The opening night roster of 24 players consists of 15 returnees and nine new names who will wear the club logo for the first time. Eagles Trade Waugh, Blais in Seperate Deals

August 25, 2024 - On Sunday, Eagles general manager Sylvain Couturier announced he has traded 18-year-old defenceman Lincoln Waugh to the Halifax Mooseheads in exchange for a 7th round draft pick in 2026. Waugh played parts of two seasons with the Eagles between 2022 and 2024 after being drafted in the third round, 48th overall in the 2022 QMJHL Entry Draft.
