- 65 minutes wasn't enough to settle the affair as the Newfoundland Regiment defeated the Cape Breton Eagles 3-2 in a shootout on Saturday night. It was the Regiment's first win over the Eagles in six meetings this season.
- Raoul Boilard & Maxime Sauthier scored for the Eagles, while Marek Danicek & Ryan Dwyer scored for Newfoundland.

January 30, 2026 - The Cape Breton Eagles will look to continue their mastery of the Newfoundland Regiment- and produce a weekend sweep- as the two teams go head to head tonight at Centre 200. Tonight is Newfoundland's final visit of the season to Cape Breton.

- A power play goal in the opening minute from Eliot Litalien gave the Cape Breton Eagles a lead they wouldn't relinquish in a 3-1 victory on Friday night over the Nefwoundland Regiment. The goal from Litalien stretched his goal scoring streak to four games. With the win, the Eagles are four points ahead of Newfoundland & Charlottetown in the Eastern Conference standings.
