Wildcats Rally Falls Short as Streak Snapped

December 18, 2025 - The Wildcats enjoyed a successful first half of the season but the 7-game win streak ended Thursday night at the Avenir Centre before 3500 fans. Cape Breton got a late third period goal from Elliot L'Italien at 19:03 to give the Eagles their first win over the Wildcats this season. Eagles defenseman Tomas Lavoie was the game star firing a hattrick and an assist for the 4th place Eagles. It's Holiday Hockey as the Cats & Eagles Battle Tonight

December 18, 2025 - Thursday night hockey and it's our Holiday Game - the last game before the break! The Eagles are at the Den for a rematch - the Cats grounded Cape Breton 6-1 at home last week and hold a 3-0 lead in the season series. Smith's 5 Points Lead Cats to 7th Straight Win

December 17, 2025 - The Wildcats, led by power centreman Gabe Smith with two goals and three assists, reeled off their 7th consecutive victory taking down the Newfoundland Regiment 6-3 before 4,000 fans at the Avenir Centre. The Cats, who found themselves trailing the Regiment 3-1 late in the second period, poured in five straight goals to maintain first overall in the QMJHL with a 22-6-2-1 record. Cats Host NL Regiment in Midweek Matchup

December 16, 2025 - It's midweek mayhem as the Regiment make their inaugural visit to the Avenir Centre on Wednesday. The Cats started their 30th campaign with a trip to the Rock and the Regiment were not gracious hosts, taking both games of the season-opening series. The Wildcats (21-6-2-1) are currently tied for first place with Chicoutimi at 45 points after 30 games and will be looking for some payback against the Regiment.
