April 7, 2026 - The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced today the signing of American linebacker Jayden McDonald and American receiver Jaelen Gill. McDonald, 26, recorded a standout 2024 season at UConn, appearing in 13 games and registering 125 total tackles (51 solo), 10 tackles for loss, one interception and four passes defended. April 6, 2026 - The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed National long snapperAaronCrawford. Crawford(6'4-250) brings 13 years of CFL experience to the Roughriders special teams unit, after spending the previous five seasons (2021-25) with the Calgary Stampeders. In total, the native of Medicine Hat, Alberta played 68 games for the Stamps, earning 16 special teams tackles and one defensive tackle. He was voted the CFLPA's all-star long snapper in 2022. April 2, 2026 - (Vancouver) - The BC Lions announced the signing of American defensive back Essang Bassey on Thursday. Bassey (5'10, 190 lbs)- began his pro career with the Denver Broncos after signing as a non-drafted free agent in 2020. As a rookie, the native of Columbus, Georgia suited up in 14 games with 23 combined tackles. He recorded his first career interception off of Taysom Hill in a game against New Orleans in week 13. March 31, 2026 - The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed American linebacker David Gbenda. Gbenda (6'0-235) signed with the NFL's Tennessee Titans as an undrafted free agent in 2025, attending training camp with the team. Collegiately, Gbenda spent six seasons (2019-24) with the Texas Longhorns, registering 166 total tackles (including 10.5 for a loss), 3.5 sacks, two interceptions, four pass deflections and a forced fumble in 62 games.
