Pats Captain McNutt Commits to Bentley University
January 6, 2026 - Regina, Sask. - The Regina Pats Hockey Club announced today that 20-year-old defenceman Ephram McNutt has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey at Bentley University for the 2026-27 season.
McNutt, 20, was named the 83rd captain in franchise history prior to the start of the 2025-26 season and has enjoyed an outstanding overage campaign. Through 36 games this season, the right-shot defenceman has tallied 26 points (6G-20A), ranking first among all Regina blueliners in scoring.

January 5, 2026 - The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed American defensive back Garnett Hollis Jr. and American defensive lineman Jaylen Pate. Pate and Hollis Jr. were teammates at Northwestern in 2022 and 2023.
Hollis Jr. (6'1-199) had NFL tryouts with the Tennessee Titans, Green Bay Packers and Buffalo Bills after appearing in the 2025 East-West Shrine Bowl. Known league-wide for his power, consistency and leadership in the trenches, Johnson built a career that included three Grey Cup championships, five All-CFL selections and seven divisional All-CFL nods.
