Riders Re-Sign Two Nationals

March 19, 2018 - The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed national receiver Brett Blaszko and national kicker Brett Lauther. Blaszko (6'4 - 204) was originally selected by the B.C. Lions in the third round (23rd overall) of the 2016 CFL Draft. The 24-year-old Oakville, Ontario native signed with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in June, 2017 after spending his rookie season on the Lions' practice roster. Riders Re-Sign National Defensive Lineman Eddie Steele

March 14, 2018 - The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed national free-agent defensive lineman Eddie Steele to a contract for the 2018 season. Steele (6'2 - 280) spent last season with the Riders after originally signing with the team in March, 2017. The 29-year-old picked up 23 defensive tackles and one quarterback sack while starting all 18 regular-season games. He also started both playoff games, registering one defensive tackle. Marcus Thigpen Suspended 2 Games for Violating Drug Policy

March 12, 2018 - The Canadian Football League has announced that Saskatchewan Roughriders running back Marcus Thigpen has been suspended two games for violating the CFL/CFLPA Drug Policy. The positive sample was collected during a random in-competition test last November.
