April 21, 2026 - WINNIPEG, MB. - The Winnipeg Blue Bombers today announce the club has signed American defensive back Matthew Jackson.
Jackson (6-1, 209, Eastern Kentucky; born: November 9, 1998, in Chicago, IL.) re-signs after spending time on the Blue Bombers' practice roster in 2025.
Jackson signed with the Bombers last season during practice roster expansion, spending just over a month with the club.

Bighill, 37, spent six of his 13 Canadian Football League seasons with the Blue Bombers (2018-24) and played his final game as a member of the Calgary Stampeders last year.

April 20, 2026 - Football Canada is pleased to announce that the 2026 Men's Selection Camp for the National Flag Football Team competing at the IFAF World Championship in Germany this August will take place in Winnipeg, Manitoba, at Princess Auto Stadium from April 30 -
May 3.
Thirty invitations have been sent to prospective Men's Team players for the Selection Camp and 20 of these invitees will progress to a June training camp in Chula Vista, CA.

Elgersma (6-5, 227, Wilfrid Laurier University; born: March 27, 2002, in London, Ont.) joins the club after being selected in the second round, 18th overall, of the 2025 CFL Canadian Draft.
He was most recently with the Birmingham Stallions of the UFL but did not see any action due to work visa issues.
