May 2, 2026 - (Gary, IN) The Gary SouthShore RailCats have officially agreed on a deal to reunite with their All-Star Closer from last year's campaign, Jacob Coats.
Coats is a 6-foot-6 right-handed pitcher from Schertz, Texas. The flamethrower spent the first two years of his college career at Paris Junior College, the only school that offered him a scholarship. In his sophomore season, he led the team in innings pitched with 56.1 and struck out 39 batters.

May 1, 2026 - LINCOLN, NE - The 2026 Lincoln Saltdogs have announced that Theo Hughes has signed to play with the Lincoln this season.
A 2025 graduate of Nebraska Wesleyan University, Hughes spent four years with the Prairie Wolves. A 6'5", 245-pound right-handed pitcher, the native of Seward, Nebraska will begin his professional career with the Saltdogs. April 30, 2026 - LINCOLN, NE - Former Lincoln Saltdog Anthony Contreras has been named the new Third Base Coach for the Philadelphia Phillies.
A native of San Jose, California, Contreras played for Lincoln during the 2008 season. A shortstop for the Saltdogs, Contreras played 44 games for Lincoln and batted .312. Contreras spent time as a player in two difference affiliated organizations, with the San Francisco Giants and the San Diego Padres.
