January 25, 2021 - BASEBALL American Association: The new ownership of the American Association's Kansas City (KS) T-Bones have renamed the team the Kansas City Monarchs as part of a long-term licensing agreement with the Negro League Baseball Museum, which owns the rights to the Monarchs name. The Kansas City Monarchs played from 1920 to 1965 and were the longest-running team in the former Negro leagues. AA Winnipeg Goldeyes January 25, 2021 - WINNIPEG, MB - The Winnipeg Goldeyes signed former Major League right-handed pitcher Ryan Dull on Monday. Dull spent five seasons in the Major Leagues from 2015-19, compiling a 4.31 ERA and 170 strikeouts in 171.1 innings for the Oakland Athletics, New York Yankees, and Toronto Blue Jays. In 2016, Dull tied for ninth in the American League with 70 appearances, while posting a 2.42 ERA in 74.1 frames for the Athletics. AA Winnipeg Goldeyes January 22, 2021 - WINNIPEG, MB - The Winnipeg Goldeyes re-signed right-handed pitcher Josh Lucas on Friday. After joining the club last August, Lucas posted a 1.20 ERA in two starts and one relief appearance. The Lakeland, Florida native struck out 18 and walked only two in 15.0 innings pitched. AA Winnipeg Goldeyes January 20, 2021 - WINNIPEG, MB - The Winnipeg Goldeyes re-signed first baseman Kyle Martin on Wednesday. Martin returns for his third season in Winnipeg and is coming off a 2020 campaign in which he was voted the American Association's Postseason All-Star at first base. The Greenville, South Carolina native finished ninth in the league in batting average (.301), tied for ninth in home runs (16), first in RBI (51), and tied for first in wins above replacement (2.9).
