Keon Barnum Named Independent Baseball Player of the Year

December 17, 2019 - ROSEMONT, Ill. - Chicago Dogs first baseman Keon Barnum had already been honored as the best in his league - he was named the American Association's Most Valuable Player in September. Now, he has been selected as the top talent in all of Independent League baseball. The 2019 Chicago Dogs slugger is Baseball America's Independent Baseball Player of the Year, the outlet announced. November 12, 2019 - Rosemont, Ill. - The Chicago Dogs are thrilled to announce their 2020 season schedule. The team will play 50 home games at Rosemont's Impact Field, including its season opener against the Sioux Falls Canaries Friday, May 22. September 3, 2019 - ROSEMONT, Ill. - Dogs first baseman Keon Barnum has been named the American Association's Most Valuable Player for the 2019 season, the league announced Tuesday. Barnum pieced together a magical - and historic - 2019 campaign, his first in the league. With 31 home runs, he broke the American Association's single-season home run record, previously held by C.J. September 2, 2019 - ROSEMONT, Ill. - Gustavo Pierre homered as part of a high-scoring, back-and-forth affair, but the Chicago Dogs could not overcome a seventh inning outburst as they dropped the season finale to the St. Paul Saints, 13-8.
