Steel Host Chicago Blackhawks Night and KIDZ BOP Day for Holiday Hockey
December 23, 2025 - GENEVA, ILLINOIS - The Chicago Steel will resume the USHL schedule with two big promotions this weekend, starting with Chicago Blackhawks Night on Saturday, Dec. 27 at 6:05 pm and KIDZ BOP Day on Sunday, Dec. 28 at 3:05 pm as they host the Youngstown Phantoms.

Steel Acquire Goaltender Veeti Louhivaara
December 22, 2025 - GENEVA, ILLINOIS - The Chicago Steel have acquired Finnish goaltender Veeti Louhivaara, the team announced Monday.
A native of Jyvaskyla, Finland, Louhivaara played in his hometown for JYP in the Finnish SM-sarja appearing in nine games this season with the U20 team and posted a 2.52 goals against average and a .917 save percentage. He posted similar numbers last season, also with the U20 team, playing in 18 games while boasting a 2.94 goals against average and a .902 save percentage.

Chicago Drops One-Goal Decision to Green Bay
December 12, 2025 - GENEVA, IL - Despite a pair of goals in a span of 15 seconds that gave the team a short-lived lead, the Chicago Steel (12-12-2-1, 27 pts.) dropped their third game in eight days to the Green Bay Gamblers (18-7-2-1, 39 pts.), 3-2 Friday night at Fox Valley Ice Arena.

Steel Point Streak Ends After 5-1 Loss to Gamblers
December 10, 2025 - GREEN BAY, WI -- Zach Wooten tallied two goals and the Gamblers scored four unanswered goals over the final two periods as the Chicago Steel (12-11-2-1, 27 pts.) fell 5-1 to Green Bay (17-7-2-1, 37 pts.) at the Resch Center Wednesday night.
The Gamblers extended their winning streak to nine games.
James Scantlebury scored a power play goal for his sixth score of the season and Chicago's only tally.
Tobias Ohman and Wyatt Herres each tallied assists on the goal.
