Hurricanes Announce Bid for 2026 Memorial Cup
July 25, 2024 - LETHBRIDGE, AB - The Lethbridge Hurricanes Hockey Club officially announced on Thursday their intention to bid to serve as the host team for the 2026 Memorial Cup at the Lethbridge Sportsplex. In 2026, it will mark the 106th edition of the Memorial Cup tournament. The Memorial Cup is the national championship for the Canadian Hockey League, having been awarded since 1919. July 16, 2024 - LETHBRIDGE, AB - The Lethbridge Hurricanes Hockey Club are proud to announce that Hockey Canada has named 2005-born defenceman Noah Chadwick and 2007-born defenceman Will Sharpe have been invited to Canadian selection camps. Chadwick, 19, will participate in the National Junior Team Summer Showcase. July 10, 2024 - LETHBRIDGE, AB - The Lethbridge Hurricanes Hockey Club announced Wednesday they have acquired 2005-born forward Trae Johnson from the Kelowna Rockets in exchange for a sixth-round draft pick in the 2026 Western Hockey League Prospects Draft. Johnson, 19, was originally drafted by the Brandon Wheat Kings in the second-round (35th overall) in the 2020 WHL Prospects Draft.
