Hanas Scores First Career Goal as Chiefs Take 1-0 Series Lead

March 23, 2019 - SPOKANE, Wash. - The Spokane Chiefs took advantage of strong performances from their special teams to claim a 1-0 series lead over the Portland Winterhawks in their best-of-seven first round playoff clash, winning 5-2 on Friday night at Spokane Arena. Portland jumped out to a 1-0 lead with a power play goal by Jake Gricius, who redirected a shot off a Chiefs skater at 11:20 of the first period. March 20, 2019 - Calgary, Alta. - The Western Hockey League announced on Wednesday that Spokane Chiefs defenseman Ty Smith has been named Western Conference Defenseman of the Year as well as a Western Conference First-Team All-Star for the 2018-19 regular season. March 20, 2019 - Calgary, Alta. - The Western Hockey League announced on Wednesday that Chiefs 20-year-old forward Riley Woods has been selected as a Western Conference Second Team All-Star. The selection for Woods comes following a season in which he set career highs in numerous categories, including goals (29), assists (46), points (75), +/- (+17), and points per game (1.15). March 17, 2019 - SPOKANE, Wash. - The Spokane Chiefs announced today the game schedule for their first round playoff series versus the Portland Winterhawks. The two teams will begin with back-to-back games in Spokane on March 22 and 23.
