March 6, 2026 - Major League Baseball announced on Thursday the rosters and broadcast schedule for the third annual "Spring Breakout" prospect games that will be part of Major League Spring Training and broadcast on MLB Network, local RSNs and streamed on MLB.tv, MLB.com and the MLB App from March 19th-22nd.
The Spring Breakout games serve as a showcase of baseball's future stars, as each Major League Club will field a team of top prospects to play a team of top prospects from another organization in a nine-inning exhibition game.

March 4, 2026 - Longtime Marlins broadcaster Tommy Hutton, who spent six seasons in the Inland Northwest as a player for the Spokane Indians, announced on Monday that he will retire following the 2026 season.
Hutton joined the Marlins in 1997, coinciding with the franchise's first World Series title, and his final season will be his 23rd year in the TV booth and 28th overall broadcasting Marlins games. A total of 20 former Hops players and coaches have earned spots on rosters across 10 different countries. The two-week tournament begins on March 4 and runs through March 17, featuring 20 teams in a pool-play format followed by a single-elimination knockout stage. The inaugural event offered a first look at the long-awaited stadium - from its modern design and upgraded fan amenities to the 9,000 sq. ft premium club.
