Sporting Cascades FC Names Darren Sawatzky as Head Coach
June 15, 2026 - Sporting Cascades FC announced today it has named Pacific Northwest native and former USL League One Coach of the Year Darren Sawatzky as head coach, an important milestone as the club prepares for its inaugural season.
Sawatzky, who has spent the last six years as head coach of USL League One side Richmond Kickers, has extensive ties to the Pacific Northwest. June 14, 2026 - EUGENE, OR - The Emeralds fell to the Spokane Indians in the series finale by a final score of 4-2. Spokane secured the series victory with the win tonight. Eugene clinched the first half championship on Tuesday, but Spokane rallied to win four of the next five games.

Ems Drop Game Five of Series to Spokane
June 13, 2026 - EUGENE, OR - The Emeralds fell to the Spokane Indians by a final score of 11-2. The Indians now hold a 3-2 series lead heading into the series finale tomorrow afternoon.
Spokane got the scoring started in the top of the first with a leadoff home run for the third consecutive game. Tommy Hopfe hit the first two, and it was Max Belyeu who sent it deep tonight to give Spokane the early 1-0 lead.

Trevor Cohen Blasts Walk-off Home Run
June 13, 2026 - EUGENE, OR - The Emeralds defeated the Spokane Indians by a final score of 7-6 to even up the series at two games a piece. The Ems trailed by three runs before scoring six unanswered. Spokane tied up the game in the eighth inning before Trevor Cohen blasted a walk-off home run in the bottom of the 9th. It was the third walk-off win of the season for Eugene and their second walk-off home run.
