September 22, 2019 - Winnipeg, MB. - The Western Hockey League officially returned to Winnipeg Saturday and the Brandon Wheat Kings spoiled the party, doubling up the hometown Ice 4-2 in front of a crowd of 1,600 fans at renovated Wayne Fleming Arena. The Wheat Kings, who lost 3-2 Friday night in their 2019 Home Opener, returned the favor on Saturday by scoring two unanswered second period goals en route to their first victory of the 2019-20 WHL season. September 20, 2019 - Brandon, MB. - The curtain goes up on the 2019-20 Western Hockey League season Friday night and for the first time in 35 years the Brandon Wheat Kings will be hosting a provincial rival. The Ice relocated to Winnipeg this past spring and this will mark the first time since 1984 that Brandon has hosted a Winnipeg based franchise. Gutenberg Named 63rd Captain in Wheat Kings History

September 19, 2019 - Brandon, Man. - The Brandon Wheat Kings will have a new captain when they hit the ice Friday night to kick off their 2019-20 Western Hockey League season. 20-year old veteran Connor Gutenberg becomes the 63rd captain in franchise history, succeeding Stelio Mattheos.
