Americans Stumble Late in Overtime Loss to Giants

January 17, 2019 - The Vancouver Giants defeated the Americans tonight in a close match in overtime. The boys took over the first period and scored a couple goals. Riley Sawchuk got the team on the board with the assist of Hyman and Hrabik. Sasha Mutala scored the second for the 2-0 lead. The Giants did not stay behind for long, tying things up in the second period and taking the lead 3-2 at 13:35. Americans Defeated 8-3 in Spokane

January 13, 2019 - Rookie goaltender Talyn Boyko made his third WHL start tonight in Spokane. The 16-year-old made 40 stops but the Americans ultimately fell 8-3 to the Chiefs. Heading into tonight's game Eli Zummack led the Chiefs head-to-head against the Americans with four points. He added to that early with the game's first goal at 10:18. Riley Sawchuk responded for the Americans just 31 seconds later to tie the game at one. Spokane capitalized on a Kyle Olson boarding penalty at 12:55 and began to pull away. Shorthanded Goal Lifts Ams to 4-3 Victory over Silvertips

January 12, 2019 - The Americans matched up against the Everett Silvertips tonight for the third time over the past week. Once again it was a close battle between the two U.S. Division rivals. Over the two recent games against the Silvertips, the Americans totaled only 12 first period shots on goal. Tri-City started the tonight's game with energy and controlled a majority of the first 20 minutes. They were able to get 17 shots on Everett goaltender Dustin Wolf, but yielded no goals. January 10, 2019 - Toronto, Ont. - The Canadian Hockey League in association with National Hockey League Central Scouting have announced the rosters for the 2019 Sherwin-Williams CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game which takes place on Wednesday January 23 in Red Deer, Alberta.
