Rivermen Heading to President's Cup Finals After Furious Third Period Comeback

SPHL Peoria Rivermen April 19, 2024 - PEORIA, IL - One minute and eighteen seconds... They can pass by unnoticed over a day. But those 78 seconds can change lives and even seasons. For the Peoria Rivermen, 78 seconds was all it took to erase a 2-1 deficit and score three goals late in the third period to defeat the Evansville Thunderbolts 5-2 at Carver Arena on Friday night to clinch a berth in the President's Cup Finals for the second time in three seasons. SPHL Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs April 19, 2024 - ROANOKE, VA. - The Rail Yard Dawgs (3-2) roared out of the gate on Friday night, but barely held on for a 5-4 victory over the Huntsville Havoc (3-1) in Game Two of the 2024 President's Cup Semifinals at Berglund Center. Jacob Kelly had two goals, Aidan Girduckis tallied his first pro goal, and Owen McDade and Josh Nenadal also scored for Roanoke. Dawgs Activate DiGiulio, Waive Stanko

SPHL Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs April 19, 2024 - ROANOKE, VA. - The Rail Yard Dawgs announced on Friday that the team has activated forward Matteo DiGiulio from the injured reserve. Additionally, forward Brenden Stanko has been placed on waivers. DiGiulio joined the Dawgs from Adrian College (ACHA), where he played for four seasons en route to winning two national championships in 2021 and 2024 with the Bulldogs. Craig Simchuk Earns Back-To-Back SPHL Coach of the Year Honors

SPHL Birmingham Bulls April 19, 2024 - The SPHL announced that Craig Simchuk of the Birmingham Bulls has been selected as the SPHL Coach of the Year in a vote of league coaches, staff and broadcasters. Fayetteville's Ryan Cruthers, Quad City's Dave Pszenyzny and Roanoke's Dan Bremner finished tied for second in the balloting. Simchuk led Birmingham to the William B.
