Dawgs Acquire Noah Finstrom, Send Roche's Rights to Knoxville

November 13, 2025 - ROANOKE, VA - The Rail Yard Dawgs announced a trade with the Knoxville Ice Bears on Thursday. Roanoke will acquire forward Noah Finstrom from the Ice Bears, while Knoxville will acquire the SPHL rights to defenseman Billy Roche. Finstrom joins the Dawgs early on in his second season in the SPHL, having played for both Huntsville and Knoxville as a rookie in the 2024-25 campaign. Ice Bears Swap Finstrom for Blue Liner Roche

November 13, 2025 - The Knoxville Ice Bears have traded forward Noah Finstrom to the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs for the rights to defenseman Billy Roche, the teams confirmed Thursday afternoon. Roche, 28, is in his third professional season after spending the past two seasons in Roanoke. He first joined the Rail Yard Dawgs for three games late in the 2022-23 campaign following the conclusion of his collegiate career. Birmingham on the Road Taking on Knoxville & Huntsville

November 12, 2025 - The Birmingham Bulls turned a corner last weekend getting three out of a possible four points. On Friday night the Bulls defeated an old nemesis, Roanoke, 3-2 in overtime. Two nights later Birmingham picked up a point in Huntsville, losing in a third shootout of the year but had an incredible comeback to get there. Birmingham was down by two goals twice in the third period but found a way to get to overtime. Michael McChesney Named Warrior Hockey/SPHL Player of the Week

November 11, 2025 - PEORIA, IL - The Peoria Rivermen are proud to announce, in conjunction with the SPHL, that forward Michael McChesney has been named this week's Warrior Hockey/SPHL Player of the Week. This is McChesney's first Player of the Week honor this year and the first for the Rivermen in the 2025-26 campaign as well. McChesney, 27, was instrumental in Peoria's weekend sweep of the Quad City Storm on Friday and Saturday night.
