June 18, 2026 - The Knoxville Ice Bears have re-signed head coach John Gurskis to a two-year extension as he prepares for his third season in Knoxville. The move comes in anticipation for the franchise's 25th anniversary year. Under Gurskis, the Ice Bears have gone 52-50-12 over the past two regular seasons while winning three playoff series in that span. May 22, 2026 - The Knoxville Ice Bears have confirmed the team's protected list for the 2026-27 SPHL season. The list includes 13 players, as permitted by the league that the Ice Bears will retain the rights to moving into next year. The list includes forwards Jimmy Soper, Blake Tosto, Ryan Kuzmich, Dawson McKinney, Davide Gaeta, Tim Kent and Eric Olson, defensemen Tim Faulkner, Robin Liljekvist, Brendan Dowler, Billy Roche and Ryan Orgel, and goaltender Stephen Mundinger. Ice Bears Fall Just Short in Game Five of President's Cup Semifinals

April 26, 2026 - An incredible effort by the Knoxville Ice Bears came up just short in a winner-take-all game five of the President's Cup semifinals as Knoxville's season ended with a 1-0 loss to the Peoria Rivermen at the Peoria Civic Center Sunday afternoon.
