FLORENCE, SC - Colin Callahan buried the overtime winner to send the Pee Dee IceCats to the first win in the franchise's SPHL history Saturday night at Florence Center.

The IceCats got off to a hot start just 1:31 into the game on Filip Hlavac's first goal of the season from Danil Federov and Dennis Zaichyk. Federov notched his second point of the period with a goal at 15:57 from Evan Beers to put Pee Dee up 2-0 at the break.

The Huntsville Havoc battled back in the third with two goals of their own after a quiet second period. Jack Jaunich scored 8:21 into the third with assists coming from Dawson Sciarrino and Craig McCabe. Austin Alger scored his second of the season at the 17:35 mark with assists from Keighan Gerrie and Michael Hodge to tie the game and send it to overtime.

It was there that Callanan buried a wrist shot from the right circle, firing the puck between the right arm and the body of Huntsville goalteder Alex Proctor.

Parker Rutherford earned the first win and first overtime in the team's SPHL with 28 saves, including a spectacular diving stop in the third period.

Pee Dee now heads out on a 10-game road trip starting this Thursday against Quad City in a special 11:30 am ET start. Join John Ruggiero 15 minutes prior to puck drop for the call of the game on 94.7 The Hog and streaming on FloSports.
