Thunderbolts Re-Sign Captain Matthew Hobbs
June 11, 2026 - Evansville, In.: The Evansville Thunderbolts and Head Coach/Director of Hockey Operations Jeff Bes are pleased to announce the re-signing of captain Matthew Hobbs, who will take on an expanded role with the team in 2026-27.
Hobbs, the longest-tenured captain in Thunderbolts team history, led the Thunderbolts to their second consecutive President's Cup title in the 2025-26 season, his fourth full season with Evansville and second as team captain. Big Hit Eludes Otters in Middle Game Defeat
June 10, 2026 - EVANSVILLE, Ind. - The Evansville Otters (17-10) dropped the matinee in Avon against the Lake Erie Crushers (13-14) on Wednesday, 5-2.
Ben Petschke was the starter for the Otters against Andres Parra for Lake Erie.
For the second straight day, it would take until the third inning for a team to score. The Otters got on the board first with an RBI double by Amani Jones.

Otters Withstand Late Push from Crushers, Win Opener
June 9, 2026 - EVANSVILLE, Ind. - The Evansville Otters (17-10) survived a late comeback attempt as they took game one of the road series against the Lake Erie Crushers (13-14) on Tuesday night, 8-7.
Ryan Wiltse got the start for the Otters against Fraynel Nova for the Crushers.
After a quiet first two innings on the offensive side, the Otters would bring two in on a Dennis Pierce single that brought in J.J. Cruz and T.J. Salvaggio.

Evansville Comeback Runs out of Time in Series Finale
June 7, 2026 - EVANSVILLE, Ind. - The Evansville Otters (16-10) got close to another comeback, but ran out of time and dropped the series finale to the Schaumburg Boomers (14-13) on Sunday afternoon, 11-7.
It was Landon Willeman for the Otters against Derek Salata as the starter for the Boomers.
Evansville scored first on a squeeze play from Logan Brown that brought in Amani Jones from third base.
