Three Stars of Week 14

January 21, 2019 - FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The second-longest streak in Marksmen franchise history came to an end this weekend, as Fayetteville dropped a near-comeback to the Rail Yard Dawgs at home Saturday, 4-3. Despite the loss, Fayetteville finds themselves still at sixth place in the league with a record of 15-12-3. This impressive-run was absolutely necessary for the Marksmen, who found themselves faltering after a six-game losing streak prior to Christmas. Slow Start Stops Marksmen Streak, Falling 4-3

January 19, 2019 - FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - Following a nail-biting win Friday, sending the streak to eight, the Marksmen came home for their fourth straight game against Roanoke. Fayetteville looked keep winning, not yet losing since the flip of the calendar. Roanoke wanted no part of the noise and they showed it, scoring only three minutes into the game. The Rail Yard Dawgs showed that they could take the heat of Fayetteville, scoring their second goal in the final four seconds off a redirect in front. That goal put the Marksmen in an odd spo... January 19, 2019 - FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - After sweeping last weekend, the Marksmen look to mirror that result again this weekend starting in Roanoke. Roanoke sent the 5500+ crowd into a frenzy, as Jeff Jones scored a controversial-goal only three and a half minutes into the contest. Following a weekend of only a single point without scoring a goal, Jake Hauswirth was out for revenge. The captain scored Fayetteville's first goal only 57 seconds after R... Full Story

Strict-Defense Leads Way for Marksmen Return to Roanoke

January 16, 2019 - FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - A lively weekend and two more wins to boot send the seven-game streaking Marksmen (14-11-3) into their second straight weekend against rival-Roanoke. Rookie goaltender Nathan Perry, with just three starts under his belt as a pro, is proving his worth early in his time with the team. Boasting a 93.9 save percentage and only allowing 1.67 goals per game in his first three games with Fayetteville, he's excelled in what was feared to be a serious gap for the team with the loss of ECHL call-up Dillon Kell...
