June 24, 2019 - BASEBALL Arizona League: The pure Rookie-level AzL started its 2019 season this week and has grown from 18 to 21 teams now aligned in a six-team Central, seven-team West and an eight-team East division. AzL teams are operated by Major League Baseball (MLB) organizations and play at the various spring training complexes in the Phoenix area. The increase in teams was due to MLB's Milwaukee Brewers, Los Angeles Dodgers and Oakland Athletics adding second teams in the league for 2019. These teams are now called the Brewer... Full Story

June 23, 2019 - DANVILLE, Va. - The Johnson City Cardinals won the series at American Legion Field Sunday, taking the rubber match of the three-game set 3-2 vs. the Braves. Johnson City enjoys an off day tomorrow before returning to action Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in Greeneville. Greeneville Get by Pirates

June 23, 2019 - After opening the series with a win, the Bristol Pirates lost their second straight game to the Greeneville Reds in a 4-1 defeat on Sunday night. Bristol jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning on an RBI single by designated hitter Samuel Inoa to score center fielder Daniel Rivero from second base. Pirates starter Santiago Florez stymied the Reds' offense for five innings, allowing just three hits while striking out three. Braves Drop Series Finale against Johnson City

June 23, 2019 - DANVILLE, Va. - The Danville Braves dropped a series for the first time this season, falling 3-2 in a rubber match against the Johnson City Cardinals to finish out a six-game homestand to start the season. After a wacky second game that saw lots of runs of lots of errors, Sunday's contest was a much more muted affair, with just five runs scored and only one error committed by the two squads.
