March 19, 2026 - CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Thirty Appalachian League alumni were selected for Major League Baseball's third annual edition of Spring Breakout, which takes place March 19-22. Spring Breakout serves as a showcase of baseball's future stars with each Major League Club fielding a team of prospects from their farm system to play a team of top prospects from another organization in an exhibition game.

Kaelen Culpepper (Bluefield '22) is the Appy League's highest ranked prospect at No. 52 on MLB Pipeline's new Top 100 Prospects list and No. 2 on the Minnesota Twins Top 30 list. 2021 Appy League Pitcher of the Year, Bryce Mayer (Greeneville '21), is the No. 6 Houston Astros prospect. Braden Nett (Greeneville '21), who was added to the Athletics' 40-man roster in November, is the Athletics' No. 6 prospect.

March 4, 2026 - CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The Appalachian League will have five former coaches and players participating in the 2026 World Baseball Classic. 2023 Burlington pitching coach Horacio Ramírez will represent Team Mexico, Carlos Lequerica (Pulaski '21) and Noah Mendlinger (Bristol '21) will represent Team Israel, while Jack Seppings (Princeton '21) and Wes Burton (Bristol '21) will represent Team Great Britain.

Appalachian League: The city of Bristol (VA) has decided not to move forward on construction of a new stadium for the Bristol State Liners team in the summer-collegiate Appy League, which operates under the Major League Baseball and USA Baseball Prospect Development Pipeline. Original plans were to build the stadium across the state line in Bristol (TN) but that failed and Bristol (VA) stepped up in August 2025.
