Bluefield Survives Late Kingsport Threat, Axmen Remain Winless

June 9, 2026 - KINGSPORT, Tenn. - The Axmen loaded the bases in the ninth but failed to score the tying run, falling to Bluefield, 5-3, on Tuesday night. The Axmen are off to the worst start in the league since 2022. Entering the ninth, the Axmen trailed, 5-2, in need of a late rally. BJ Gibson drew a walk to start the frame, and two groundouts later he was standing at third base. Bluefield Offense Explodes, Handing Kingsport Their Fourth Straight Loss

June 9, 2026 - KINGSPORT, Tenn. - The Bluefield Ridge Runners tallied 19 hits en route to their series-opening 13-4 win over the Kingsport Axmen on Monday night. Only one Ridge Runner went hitless on the night, while Travis Peitz, Allan Gil-Fernandez and Nate Hawton-Henley each had three hits. Burlington Sweeps Kingsport with Late Offensive Surge

June 6, 2026 - KINGSPORT, Tenn. - Burlington improved to the league's best record, sweeping the Axmen on the road and taking Game 3 on Saturday, 7-4. For the first time in the series, each starting pitcher made it to three innings after strong performances from Kingsport's Ben Leikam and Burlington's Joshua Evans. Burlington Clinches Opening Series with 7-5 Win over Kingsport

June 5, 2026 - KINGSPORT, Tenn. - A late two-run double from Burlington's Braden Maranto powers the Sock Puppets to a 7-5 victory, not only improving them to 2-0, but also clinching their first series win. Maranto had an excellent night, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and four RBIs.
