January 21, 2025 - KINGSPORT, TN - The Kingsport Axmen have announced that Rick Adair will return as manager of the club for the 2025 season. This will be Adair's second season in Kingsport.
Adair comes from a lenghty baseball background, including being drafted in the 3rd round of the 1979 Major League Baseball draft by the Seattle Mariners. The Western Carolina alum coached at the MLB level for the Cleveland Indians, Detroit Tigers, Seattle Mariners, and Baltimore Orioles.

January 13, 2025 - KINGSPORT, TN - Boyd Sports, LLC has announced that Makenzy Tester will be the Assistant General Manager of the Kingsport Axmen, effective today.
Tester is a dedicated educator, sports enthusiast, and community advocate. She played basketball at King University, where she developed a strong foundation in teamwork and leadership. Tester's experience includes working in Special Education with Kingsport City Schools and being the program coordinator for Healthy Kingsport, promoting wellness initiatives in her community. She ... November 11, 2024 - KINGSPORT, TN - The Kingsport Axmen announced their 2025 baseball schedule. The Axmen's first home game will be on Monday, June 9 in a matchup with the Bristol State Liners.
The 2025 Appalachian League regular season begins June 5 and runs through July 30. The Axmen schedule is highlighted by hosting the Burlington Sock Puppets for 3 games to kick off the month of July.

August 13, 2024 - CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The Appalachian League announced that Kingsport's Tyree Jackson (Hudson Valley CC (N.Y.)) was named the Humanitarian of the Year. The Humanitarian of the Year award is given to the Appalachian League player who made the most notable contributions to his community during the season through active participation in community service projects.
