August 11, 2026 - CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The Appalachian League announced that Johnson City's Julien Hachem (Erskine College) was named the 2026 Pitcher of the Year.
Hachem, 21, went 3-1 with two saves and a 2.10 ERA in 14 appearances for the Johnson City Doughboys en route to earning Pitcher of the Year honors. The left-hander struck out 35 in 25 2/3 innings, allowing six earned runs on 16 hits and 14 walks. July 31, 2026 - KINGSPORT, Tenn. - The Johnson City Doughboys dropped their postseason bout against the Kingsport Axmen, 5-2, falling just short of the Appalachian League Championship game.
The Axmen took an early lead in the first three innings, putting up a Garrett Luett sacrifice fly in the first and a Carter Geffre two-run homer in the third to make it 3-0 quickly.

This is the second weekly honor for both Eisfelder (July 13-19) and Rollins (July 20-26) this season.

Ronny Matti, a hometown kid from Johnson City, stepped up to the plate for his first at-bat with his former high school teammate Nate Eisfelder representing the winning run 90 feet away.
