Toronto Tempo Announce First Trade in Team History
April 1, 2026 - [TORONTO, ON] - The Toronto Tempo has announced its first trade in franchise history.
The Tempo has acquired the 26th overall pick in the 2026 WNBA Draft from the Chicago Sky via the New York Liberty. In exchange, the Tempo has agreed to pass on selecting from Chicago's unprotected list in the 2026 Expansion Draft.
With this transaction, the Tempo now hold picks 6, 22, 26, and 36 in the upcoming WNBA Draft.

Chicago Sky Make Pair of Deals with Expansion Teams
April 1, 2026 - CHICAGO - The Chicago Sky agreed to deals with the expansion Toronto Tempo and Portland Fire ahead of Friday's Expansion Draft, the team announced today.
The Sky are swapping pick No. 17 in the 2026 WNBA Draft with Portland's pick No. 21 in exchange for the Fire to not select any player from Chicago's Unprotected List in the Expansion Draft.

Phoenix Mercury Names Two-Time WNBA Champion Tangela Smith and TC Swirsky as Assistant Coaches
April 1, 2026 - PHOENIX - The Phoenix Mercury today announced veteran coaches Tangela Smith and TC Swirsky have joined head coach Nate Tibbetts' staff as assistant coaches. Amiee Book has been named head video coordinator.
Smith, a 15-year WNBA veteran, played four seasons in Phoenix (2007-10), helping guide the Mercury to championships in 2007 and 2009.
