USBWA Names National Freshman Honor After Tamika Catchings

October 17, 2019 - BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The United States Basketball Writers Association has named its annual recognition of its women's national freshman of the year The Tamika Catchings Award. Catchings, vice president of basketball operations for the Indiana Fever of the WNBA, was the consensus national freshman of the year during the 1997-98 season, when the Tennessee Lady Volunteers won a national championship in a 39-0 season. New York Liberty Announce Barclays Center as Home Venue Beginning in 2020

October 17, 2019 - BROOKLYN - The New York Liberty are moving to Brooklyn. Beginning with the 2020 WNBA season, the team will play its home games at Barclays Center. In addition to the change in venue, this will also be the first full season under new leadership. October 16, 2019 - WNBA Playoff Ratings Review While last year's WNBA Finals only went three games, it was able to top over 500k viewers twice. The top number of viewers for this year's finals came in at just short of that with 499k. Both season's Finals games were aired during the NFL season. According to SportsMediaWatch.com, this was the lowest-rated WNBA finals since 2013. New York Liberty Announce Head Coach Katie Smith's Contract Not Renewed

October 16, 2019 - NEW YORK - The New York Liberty announced today that Head Coach Katie Smith's contract will not be renewed for the 2020 season. The search for a new coach will begin immediately.
