UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Conor Higgs smashed his third home run of the season and drove in four runs total to help the State College Spikes take a game tied at 1-1 in the seventh and make it into a 10-1 rout on Monday afternoon at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. BASEBALL Appalachian League: The ownership of the Bristol State Liners, who represent the twin cities of Bristol (VA) and Bristol (TN) and play in the summer-collegiate Appy League operated by Major League Baseball and USA Baseball, has come to an agreement with the city of Bristol (VA) for a new multi-use stadium to be built for the team. BILOXI, MS - Minor League Baseball announced today that Biloxi Shuckers outfielder Garrett Spain was named the Southern League Player of the Week and right-handed pitcher Jaron DeBerry was named the Southern League Pitcher of the Week. It marks the fourth and fifth weekly awards for the Shuckers this season, including the first career weekly award for both players.
