Varvaro added to SL North All-Star Team

JACKSON, TENN. (JULY 3, 2009) - The Southern League announced that Anthony Varvaro has been named to the Southern League North All-Star team as an injury replacement. Varvaro joins Jaxx OF Ezequiel Carrera, INF Marshall Hubbard and the Jaxx coaching staff at the game. The game is scheduled for July 13th at Regions Park, in Birmingham. RHP ... Full Story

Chappell Signs with NY Rangers

(Saginaw, MI) Saginaw Spirit graduate Chris Chappell signed with the NHL New York Rangers this week. The 21 year old signed a three year, two way contract that could see him play for the Rangers or their AHL affiliate, the Hartford Wolf Pack.
