Hardin Leads Shuckers to South Division Title in Double-A Debut

SL Biloxi Shuckers BILOXI, MS - Behind Tyson Hardin's strong start in his Double-A debut, the Biloxi Shuckers (40-25) clinched the First Half title in the South Division with a 6-2 victory over the Knoxville Smokies (30-34) at Keesler Federal Park on Wednesday night. The division title marks the Shuckers' first since 2019, and clinches a playoff berth for the second consecutive season. Scherzer Dominates, Bisons Blowout Worcester 14-1 on Wednesday

IL Buffalo Bisons Max Scherzer racked up eight strikeouts in less than five innings, and the Buffalo Bisons offense erupted for 14 runs, on their way to a 14-1 victory over the Worcester Red Sox on Wednesday night at Polar Park. Scherzer used 75 pitches in his second Major League injury rehab start for the Bisons, working four and one-third innings. He surrendered just one base hit and walked two, picking 48 strikes across his 75 pitch outing. The Bisons recorded runs in six innings of the nine innings, and eight players notched a hit. Magic Number Shrinks to One with 5-Run Ninth

CarL Columbia Fireflies ZEBULON, N.C. - The Columbia Fireflies batted around in the ninth to score five to upset the Carolina Mudcats 7-4 at Five County Stadium. With the win, Columbia's magic number was trimmed to one to clinch their first playoff berth in team history. Stone Russell led the ninth off with a double to set the tone. After that, Hyungchan Um doubled to left to move runners to second and third with no outs.
