Former Royal Jonathan Quick Announces Retirement
Reading, PA - Former Reading Royals' goaltender Jonathan Quick announced that his start on Monday for the New York Rangers will be the last of his 19-season professional career.
Quick, 40, began his professional career with the Royals in 2007-08 out of college at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. In 38 games with the Royals, Quick hoisted a record of 23-11-3 with a 2.79 goals against average and a .905 save percentage. Cutters Announce Field Staff for 100th Anniversary Season
The Williamsport Crosscutters have announced additions to the 2026 coaching staff under 2nd year manager Kenny Thomas for Journey Bank Ballpark's 100th anniversary season.
Hitting coach Sean Miller returns to the coaching staff for a 3rd season. On his return to Billtown he stated, "I'm extremely excited to be back for another season with the Cutters and the great fans in Williamsport." Miller was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in the 10th round of the 2015 draft out of USC Aiken, where he played for Cutters manager Kenny Thomas. Battlehawks Rally to Defeat Stallions in Thrilling 34-30 Victory
ST. LOUIS, Missouri - The St. Louis Battlehawks stormed back from two 10-point deficits to defeat the Birmingham Stallions 34-30 on Sunday afternoon at The Dome at America's Center. Wide receiver Hakeem Butler had 146 yards on 4 receptions and a touchdown in the win. Quarterback Harrison Frost went 9 for 15 for 148 yards and 3 touchdowns in his Battlehawks debut.
