MLBDL West Virginia Black Bears GRANVILLE, W.Va. - The West Virginia Black Bears got a big win against the Williamsport Crosscutters, beating them 8-3 at Kendrick Family Ballpark on Monday evening. The Bears came out swinging with two runs in the first. Jordan Peyton got the inning started with a single, with Drew Collins following with a double to put runners in scoring position. Another Homer for Higgs Caps Spikes' Late Surge in 10-1 Win over Keys

MLBDL State College Spikes UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Conor Higgs smashed his third home run of the season and drove in four runs total to help the State College Spikes take a game tied at 1-1 in the seventh and make it into a 10-1 rout on Monday afternoon at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. Higgs sent a 1-2 pitch from Anderson Cuello-Batista 407 feet over the center-field wall for a three-run shot to finish a six-run frame for the Spikes (17-20 2nd Half) in the eighth. BASEBALL Appalachian League: The ownership of the Bristol State Liners, who represent the twin cities of Bristol (VA) and Bristol (TN) and play in the summer-collegiate Appy League operated by Major League Baseball and USA Baseball, has come to an agreement with the city of Bristol (VA) for a new multi-use stadium to be built for the team. The stadium is expected to be ready for the 2027 season but it is uncertain where the team will play in 2026. For the 2024 season, the team was based out of Greeneville (TN), home of the league's Greeneville Flyboys, when plans fell through for a new stad... Full Story
