American Association: The Kane County (IL) Cougars, the 2025 season champion of the independent American Association, won the recent 2026 Baseball Champions League tournament that included 2025 champions from five other international leagues in Mexico, Venezuela, Taiwan, Cuba and Nicaragua. The league's Winnipeg Goldeyes will play a game (July 31) during the 2026 season as the Manitoba Mosquitoes in recognition of the mosquito, the area's summertime winged pest.

Greensboro Swarm Claims Eastern Conference Championship, Defeats Osceola Magic, 134-121
KISSIMMEE, Fla. - The Greensboro Swarm, the NBA G League affiliate of the Charlotte Hornets, were crowned Eastern Conference Champions on Sunday at Silver Spurs Arena, defeating the Osceola Magic, 134-121.
The No. 2-seeded Swarm moved through the Eastern Conference, having trailed less than a minute of the NBA G League Playoffs presented by Google, defeating the No. 1-seeded Magic wire-to-wire. Greensboro will face the winner of the South Bay Lakers (1) and Stockton Kings (3), who play Sunday at 9 p.m. ET, in the NBA G League Finals presented by Google. Houston, TX - On a nippy, rainy day in Houston, the Gamblers pulled out a thrilling 22-20 victory over the Stallions. Kicker John Hoyland had himself a day, going five-for-five, including the game-winning field goal from 50 yards out as time expired.

Pereda's Walk-Off Hit Secures 6-5 Victory in Series Finale
TACOMA, WA - The Tacoma Rainiers (4-5) picked up their first walk-off win of 2026 as Jhonny Pereda drove in the winning run with a two-out single in the bottom of the ninth to beat the El Paso Chihuahuas (5-4) by a 6-5 final score in the series finale. Patrick Wisdom got the offense going with a three-run home run in the fifth inning for his seventh home run of the season, tied for the most in the PCL.
