Former NY Boulders Pitcher Alex Carrillo Called up by New York Mets

Pomona, NY - The New York Boulders are proud to announce that RHP Alex Carrillo has become the third alumnus in franchise history to be added to a regular season Major League Baseball roster. The 28-year-old, who shares a birthday (6/6/97) with current Boulders SS Austin Dennis, was called up this morning to join the New York Mets from their AAA affiliate in Syracuse and is expected to be in uniform for the Mets' series opener this evening in Baltimore against the Orioles. Former Wild Thing RHP Alex Carrillo Called up to Bigs by Mets

WASHINGTON, Pa. - For the ninth time in Wild Things history, a former Wild Thing is headed to the big leagues, as Alex Carrillo (2024) has had his contract selected by the New York Mets ahead of their series with the Baltimore Orioles which starts Tuesday night. Carrillo, who pitched for the Wild Things in 2024 on a one-year deal, signed with the Mets in the offseason while pitching in the Venezuelan Winter League. He started the year in Double-A Binghamton and was 2-1 with a 4.19 ERA in 15 appearances for the Rumble Ponies. In 19.1 innings, he allowed 15 hits, eight walks and posted 30 str... Full Story

Express Hold off Border Cats 8-5

Eau Claire, Wis. - The Trains are back in the win column. The Express rode an early 7-1 lead to victory in the opener against Thunder Bay, holding off a late Border Cats comeback to win 8-5 and snap a four-game skid. Alex Hendrickson (St. Thomas) led the way with two hits and three runs batted in and Kenneth Fistler (Alma) induced two double plays to pick up the four-out save. The Border Cats got on the board first with Manny Alberto's RBI double in the opening frame, but Eau Claire responded in a big way.
