5 Heartlanders Named to IIHF World Championship Teams

ECHL Iowa Heartlanders Coralville, Iowa - Five players with Iowa Heartlanders ties will play in the 2025 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship, hosted from May 9-25 in Sweden and Denmark. Defenseman Zeteny Hadobas (Hungary), forward Kristof Papp (Hungary), defenseman Jules Boscq (France), goaltender Samuel Hlavaj (Czechia) and defenseman David Spacek (Slovakia) will all participate. FPHL Indiana Sentinels Binghamton, NY - Today the FPHL announces its newest expansion franchise in Columbus, IN. The FPHL Board of Governors today Approved the new franchise which will operate under name, Indiana Sentinels. This approval was based upon the team moving to a larger building with a greater seating capacity within 3 years. ECHL Toledo Walleye Fort Wayne, IN - The Toledo Walleye defeated the Fort Wayne Komets in Game 5 of the Central Division Finals with a final score of 2-1. The Walleye took a 3-2 series lead as they played from behind through much of this game. How it Happened: In what seems like a familiar theme in this series, this game was low-scoring, back-and-forth on both sides with strong goaltending. Ignoffo Hits Two Grand Slams in 14-5 Win

MWL Beloit Sky Carp BELOIT - Ryan Ignoffo put on a historic performance Thursday night at ABC Supply Stadium. The Sky Carp catcher hit grand slams in back-to-back at bats late in the Carp's 14-5 victory over the Kernels, finishing the contest with eight runs batted in and giving the home fans a memory they'll never forget. The game was a pitcher's duel for much of the contest. After the Kernels plated a run in the top of the fifth, the Sky Carp rallied with two of their own in the bottom of the frame to take a lead they wouldn't relinquish.
