Former Wild Thing RHP Alex Carrillo Called up to Bigs by Mets

FL Washington Wild Things WASHINGTON, Pa. - For the ninth time in Wild Things history, a former Wild Thing is headed to the big leagues, as Alex Carrillo (2024) has had his contract selected by the New York Mets ahead of their series with the Baltimore Orioles which starts Tuesday night. Carrillo, who pitched for the Wild Things in 2024 on a one-year deal, signed with the Mets in the offseason while pitching in the Venezuelan Winter League. He started the year in Double-A Binghamton and was 2-1 with a 4.19 ERA in 15 appearances for the Rumble Ponies. In 19.1 innings, he allowed 15 hits, eight walks and posted 30 str... Full Story

Express Hold off Border Cats 8-5

Northwoods Eau Claire Express Eau Claire, Wis. - The Trains are back in the win column. The Express rode an early 7-1 lead to victory in the opener against Thunder Bay, holding off a late Border Cats comeback to win 8-5 and snap a four-game skid. Alex Hendrickson (St. Thomas) led the way with two hits and three runs batted in and Kenneth Fistler (Alma) induced two double plays to pick up the four-out save. The Border Cats got on the board first with Manny Alberto's RBI double in the opening frame, but Eau Claire responded in a big way. Woodchucks Win Comfortably at Wisconsin Rapids

Northwoods Wausau Woodchucks WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WI - The Wausau Woodchucks carried momentum from a great performance on Sunday afternoon to a road meeting against the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters the very next day. The Woodchucks took down the Rapids Rafters 10-1 at Witter Field on Monday night, notching back-to-back road wins for the first time since June 18-19, when they won two straight at Lakeshore. It's Wausau's seventh win in its last nine games. Since Wausau lost its first game against Wisconsin Rapids back in late May, the Woodchucks have won their last four games against the Rafters.
