Football Royalty to Lead Monroe's New Team
MONROE, LA: The Arena League and the Monroe Greenheads proudly announced today at Hotel Monroe, the hiring of Terry Bowden as Head Coach and Director of Football Operations.
"I have long respected coach Bowden and am thrilled to have him as part of The Arena League," stated league commissioner and Hall-of-Famer Tim Brown, "He is going to bring so much to the Greenheads both on and off the field."

SALEM Va. - The Salem RidgeYaks (1-0) opened a new era Thursday night with a 5-4 victory over the Delmarva Shorebirds (0-1) to win their first game in RidgeYaks identity history at Carilion Clinic Field at Salem Memorial Ballpark.
After 16 years of being known as the Salem Red Sox, the team underwent a rebrand in November, introducing the Salem RidgeYaks. After months of excitement and anticipation, the wait is over, and the Yaks start the year 1-0.

Howlers Win Opening Game over Kannapolis
In Hill City's inaugural game, the Howlers reigned victorious over the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers 4-3 away from home in Kannapolis.
This game marked the first season opening victory for the franchise since 2021, a 16-3 win over Fredericksburg.
The Hill City offense howled to life to start 2026, scattering 13 hits as a team, with eight of the nine hitters getting on the board including multi-hit games by four different players.
