Ownership Group Led by DCB Sports Purchases Rights to First Location-Based BIG3 Team Franchise in Los Angeles
LOS ANGELES, CA -- Today, the BIG3 announced the first-ever purchase of rights for a BIG3 team to represent a home market. Purchasing the rights is a consortium of investors led by DCB Sports and includes a mix of professional athletes and celebrities. The Los Angeles-based BIG3 team will debut in season eight (8) in 2025. Since the BIG3's formation in 2017, all teams have been centrally owned and operated at the league level. Heartlanders Extend Head Coach Derek Damon
Coralville, Iowa - The Iowa Heartlanders, proud ECHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild and Iowa Wild, announced the team has signed Head Coach & General Manager Derek Damon to a multi-year contract extension. Damon has been Iowa's Head Coach since the team's second season. He is entering his third season as the bench boss this October. He began his professional coaching career as an assistant coach with the Heartlanders in the team's inaugural season. Yankees INF Oswald Peraza Currently Scheduled for Rehab with Somerset
Bridgewater, New Jersey - The New York Yankees have announced that INF Oswald Peraza is currently scheduled to commence an MLB rehab assignment with the Double-A Somerset Patriots on Friday, May 10. The Patriots take on the Altoona Curve (Pittsburgh Pirates) on the road at 6:00 pm. Peraza was placed on the injured list on 3/25/24 with a right should strain. In 52 games in 2023, Peraza had 15 R, 33 H, 8 2B, 2 HR and 14 RBI. He made his MLB debut with the Yankees in 2002 and hit .306/.404/.429 to go with 15 H, 3 2B, a HR and 2 RBI in 18 games. PAWTUCKET, R.I. - Rhode Island FC announced today it has acquired midfielder Jack Panayotou on loan from New England Revolution, pending league and federation approval.
