Bakersfield Condors News Release
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- The Bakersfield Condors and local area Carl's Jr. locations are teaming up to bring Kevin St. Pierre bobblehead dolls to the masses. Carl's Jr. was a sponsor for last Saturday night's game against the San Diego Gulls, which handed out 2,000 of the limited edition dolls to children 12 and under.
Starting today anyone who missed out on the giveaway can pick up a St. Pierre bobblehead at Carl's Jr., available for just $1.99 with any purchase, while supplies last. Carl's Jr. has ten locations in Bakersfield and over a dozen restaurants in Kern County. The bobbleheads are also on sale at the Condors Closet Retail Outlet, at 1022 Truxtun Avenue across from Centennial Garden. The Condors Closet is open Monday-Friday 11am-6pm, and from 11am-5pm on Saturday.
"Now a 'Famous Star' at Carl's Jr. isn't just a hamburger," Condors President & GM Matthew Riley quipped. "This is an awesome deal, and we're thrilled Carl's Jr. has provided us with the opportunity to offer such a hot item in their restaurants. With St. Pierre's popularity and the hunger that our fans feel for Carl's Jr., the supply probably won't last too long."
"We're very excited to offer such a great value to all of Condorstown," said Carl's Jr. Field Marketing Manager, Colby Sato. "With a limited quantity I can't imagine they will last for long. We'd like to thank KGET-TV 17, the Condors and Kevin St. Pierre for making this possible. He's truly the 'Six-Dollar Burger' of the goaltending world."
St. Pierre has been nearly unbeatable in goal this season. The Condors are 21-4-4 with Kevin between the pipes, and he has won the WCHL Goaltender of the Week honor five times.
"I think they should name a combo meal after me," St. Pierre joked, indicating a moment later his preference for Carl's Jr. double cheeseburgers. "Seriously, though, it's pretty cool that they're doing this at Carl's Jr. and I want to thank them for their support."
The Condors are on the road in Idaho for a pair of games this week. Both Monday and Wednesday night's games start at 6:05pm (PST). All Condors games home and away can be heard live on KGEO AM 1230, with "Condors Countdown" starting 15 minutes prior to game time. They return home to host the Anchorage Aces on Friday night at 7:00pm. The first 2,000 fans receive a long-sleeve T-shirt, sponsored by KUZZ 107 and 3-Way Chevrolet.
Single-game tickets are available through the Centennial Garden Box Office, which opens at 10:00am Monday through Saturday. Tickets may also be purchased by phone through Ticketmaster at 322-2525, online at www.ticketmaster.com or at any Ticketmaster location. Season tickets and group outings may be purchased by calling 324-PUCK (7825), or by visiting the Condors office at Centennial Garden.
