THE WEEK AHEAD

Tuesday, January 28th @ Columbus Columbus Civic Center 7:00pm

The Inferno is 3-1-0 this season against the Cottonmouths. This is the fourth game out of seven this year. Columbus is in sixth place with 36 points in the Southeast Division.

Wednesday, January 29th @ Charlotte Cricket Arena 7:05pm

Last time the Inferno and the Checkers met, Columbia won 3-0. Charlotte is in seventh place with 44 points in the Northeast Division. The Inferno is 2-0-0 this year against the Checkers.

Friday, January 31st vs. Greenville Carolina Coliseum 7:05pm

This is the sixth meeting between the Grrrowl and the Inferno. Greenville is in fifth place with 42 points in the Southeast Division. The Inferno is 4-2-0 this season against the Grrrowl.

Saturday, February 1st vs. Greenville Carolina Coliseum 7:05pm

This is the fourth game in five nights for the Inferno. Columbia is 8-5-1 all-time against the Grrrowl.

LAST WEEK

Thursday, January 23rd COLUMBIA 2 Richmond 1

The Inferno came up with their seventh win in a row as they beat the Richmond Renegades 2-1. Justin Morrison scored off of a pass from Rejean Stringer in the first period of play. Richmond tied the game at 15:56. After a scoreless second period, Barrie Moore scored the game-winning goal thirty seconds into the third period with assists to Sean Owens and Robin Carruthers. Patrick Couture was between the pipes for the Inferno and recorded his 18th win stopping 39 of 40 shots.

Friday, January 24th Columbia 1 AUGUSTA 7

The Columbia Inferno dropped to the Augusta Lynx 7-1 but still remain in second place in the Southeast Division. Barrie Moore scored the only goal on the power play for the Inferno in the second period. Chris Pittman and Corey Hessler assisted on the goal. The Inferno went 1 for 3 on the power play and 3 for 5 on the penalty kill. Inferno goaltender Josh Blackburn stopped 26 of 33 shots.

Saturday, January 25th Columbia 1 GREENSBORO 3

The Columbia Inferno still cannot find a way to win against the Greensboro Generals. Roman Marakhovski scored at 11:56 for the Generals with an assist to former Inferno player Shane Campbell. Barrie Moore scored the only goal for the Inferno at 3:20 of the second period to tie the game, with Dennis Vial on the assist. Greensboro's Pete Gardiner scored a shorthanded game-winning goal at 2:02 in the third period. Matt Chandler added the insurance goal for the Generals at 7:32. Patrick Couture stopped 22 of 25 shots for the Inferno.

ALL STAR GAME: Justin Morrison scored the only two goals for the Southern Conference and Rejean Stringer assisted on both goals. ALL STAR SKILLS COMPETITION: Justin Morrison won the award for fastest skater and also in the individual puck control relay.
