Trenton Devils News Release

The Trenton Titans (21-16-7) open a three-game road stand on Wednesday night when they face Atlantic City (26-9-10) at Boardwalk Hall. It is the eighth of 10 meetings in the Garden State Cup series. The Titans are just 2-4-1, while the Bullies are 5-0-2. Tyler Beechey has eight points (1 goal, 7 assists) in the season series, while former Titan J.F. Caudron paces the Bullies with 12 points (6 goals, 6 assists) and two game-winning goals.

On Saturday night the Titans travel to Peoria to face the Rivermen (29-10-3) in the final regular season meeting. The Rivermen downed the Titans 2-1 on December 17th in Trenton. Randy Copley scored both goals for the Rivermen. The Titans have not beaten the Rivermen during the regular season since March 13, 2001 (5-0 in Trenton). On Sunday the Titans travel to Dayton for the third of four meetings with the Bombers (16-23-7). The Titans are 2-0 against Dayton this season, with both meetings being played in Trenton. Adam Edinger leads the way with four points (2 goals, 2 assists).

"Player of the Week – Adam Edinger":

Center Adam Edinger was outstanding in leading the Titans to a weekend sweep of the Southeast Division leading Pee Dee Pride. He scored three goals (one game-winner) and added two assists in helping the Titans post a 2-0 record last week. On Friday night Edinger netted a goal and an assist in the 3-2 win over the Pride. On Saturday night, he scored a pair of goals, including the game-winner, and added an assist in the 4-2 win. He currently leads the Titans with 24 goals, 13 power play tallies, and 43 points this season.

Bertoli Returns, Impact Made:

Left wing Scott Bertoli extended his point streak to five games (2 goals, 5 assists) with three assists in two games last weekend. He has registered at least one point in 15 of 19 games this season. On Friday night, Bertoli assisted on Mike Hurley's power play goal, and the following night he added two more assists in helping the Titans sweep the Pee Dee Pride.

‘Rudy' Keeps On Rollin':

Goaltender Cody Rudkowsky bounced back after dropping back-to-back home games the previous weekend and stopped 51 of 55 shots in helping the Titans sweep Pee Dee last weekend. Since returning from Worcester (AHL)/St. Louis (NHL) on December 11th, he has gone 11-3-5, with 2.58 goals-against average, a .924 save percentage and 1 shutout.

Titans Get Their Fix By Reaching The ‘Beech': Despite having his four-game point streak snapped on Saturday night, center Tyler Beechey continues to be one of the hottest players since December 13th. He has 28 points (5 goals, 23 assists/+4 rating) in his last 22 games, and has had a pair of four-game point streaks and a career and season high seven-game stretch from December 20-30th.
