Florida Everblades News Release
The Florida Everblades fell in a shootout on Friday night 4-3 against the Greenville Grrrowl and defeated the Grrrowl 1-0 in overtime on Saturday night at TECO Arena. With the Saturday night overtime win, Florida grabbed sole possession of third place in the ECHL's Southeast Division. The Everblades travel to Lafayette, LA this weekend to battle the Ice Gators on Friday and Saturday night at 8:05 PM. The Blades then take on the Ice Pilots in Pensacola on Sunday at 6:05 PM. All 72 regular season games can be heard on Sportsradio 770 AM and on the Internet at www.floridaeverblades.com with the "Voice of the Everblades" Mark Miller calling the play-by-play. 'The Gerry Fleming Coaches Show' presented by Stevie Tomato's Sportspage on Sportsradio 770 AM airs from 6:30 - 7:30 PM on Monday nights. The show will be live on remote at the Naples location for the next four shows.
UPCOMING EVENTS/PROMOTIONS AT TECO ARENA: Scorpions with Whitesnake are in concert at TECO Arena on Saturday, February 1st. The Everblades battle the South Carolina Stingrays on Tuesday, February 4th at 7:30 PM. Boston Pops visits TECO Arena on Thursday, February 6th. The Everblades annual Celebrity Dinner will be held in the Big Cypress Club at TECO Arena on Wednesday, February 19th. GAME NOTES: The Everblades and Ice Gators will meet for the first time this season. Louisiana (26-11-8) currently ranks in 1st place in the Southwest Division standings while Florida ranks in 3rd in the Southeast. The Ice Gators are 17-3-2 at home this season and 5-4-1 in their last ten games. Florida holds a 4-5-0 record all-time against the Ice Gators and an 0-4-0 record in Louisiana. Forward Shawn McNeil leads the team in scoring with 26-33-59. His 59 points is tied for 7th in the ECHL. The Ice Gators power play ranks 8th in the ECHL and their penalty kill ranks 19th.

GAME NOTES: The Everblades and Ice Pilots will meet for the fifth and final time this season. The Everblades are 4-0-0 against the Ice Pilots this season. Pensacola (23-17-5) currently ranks in 4th place in the Southwest Division standings while Florida ranks in 3rd in the Southeast. The Ice Pilots are 11-7-2 at home this season and 5-4-1 in their last ten games. Florida holds a 20-5-3 record all-time against the Ice Pilots and a 1-0-0 record in Pensacola. Forward Greg Pankewicz leads the team in scoring with 28-21-49. His 28 goals is tied for 3rd in the ECHL. The Ice Pilots power play ranks 23rd in the ECHL and their penalty kill ranks 4th.

The Florida Everblades (21-12-9) fell in a shootout to the Greenville Grrrowl (19-22-3) 4-3 in front of a crowd of 6,400 at TECO Arena on Friday night.
Saturday, January 25th vs. Greenville 1-0OTW
The Florida Everblades (22-12-9) defeated the Greenville Grrrowl (19-22-4) 1-0 in overtime in front of 7,007 at TECO Arena on Saturday night. Florida netminder Rob Zepp stopped all 30 shots he faced to earn the shutout and forward Laurent Meunier tipped in the game winning goal.

ECHL PLAYER OF THE WEEK NOMINATION: The Everblades ECHL player of the week nomination is forward Marty Johnston. The Gloucester, Ontario native registered one goal and two assists in the Everblades 3-4 shootout loss on Friday night.
ECHL GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK NOMINATION: The Everblades ECHL goaltender of the week nomination is Rob Zepp. The Newmarket, Ontario native was 1-0-1 this past week including a 30 save shutout on Saturday night.
