Dayton Bombers News Release

The East Coast Hockey League announced at its recent Board of Governors Mid-Winter Meeting that the Northern Conference Playoff Championship Trophy, which the Bombers currently have in their possession as a result of their 2002 Northern Conference Playoff Championship victory, will be named in honor of the late Bud Gingher, Bombers' original founder and co-owner who served as ECHL Chairman of the Board for many years.

Gingher, who was a driving force behind the Bombers coming to Dayton in 1991, passed away last year from a heart attack. Gingher, whose son, Ed, is the Bombers' General Manager and Alternate Governor, is a member of both the Dayton and Peoria (Illinois) Hockey Halls of Fame.

The Dayton Bombers, will kick off a season-high, five-game homestand with three games at the Nutter Center this weekend, beginning with "Single Source News" Singles Night on Friday, January 31 when they entertain the Mississippi Sea Wolves for a 7:30 p.m. game.

Tickets can be purchased by calling 937-775-4747, by logging onto www.daytonbombers.com, or by visiting the Nutter Center Box Office.
