
Pair of Grizzlies Make The Hockey News Top 50 Prospects List

WEST VALLEY CITY, UTAH (February 10, 2003) * Two Utah Grizzlies players have appeared on The Hockey News' Top 50 list of NHL-affiliated prospects. Goaltender Jason Bacashihua and left wing Steve Ott made the list, which appears in the February 21st issue of The Hockey News as a part of the publication's Future Watch 2003 issue.
Bacashihua, 20, is playing in his first professional season and is 13-9-1-0 with a 2.98 goals against average and a .917 save percentage. The rookie has won seven straight games on home ice and is 10-4-1 in his last 15 decisions, which includes two shutouts.
The First Round Selection (26th overall) of the Dallas Stars in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft is ranked # 37 on the Future Watch list.
Ott, 20, saw his first National Hockey League action this year in his rookie season playing eight games with the Dallas Stars during the month of December. Ott posted his first NHL goal on December 31st versus Edmonton and also recorded two penalty minutes and a +3 rating during his call-up with the Stars. In 39 games with Utah, Ott has scored nine goals and added 11 assists with 96 penalty minutes. The rookie posted his first four-point night (2-2 * 4) on Friday, February 7th in Utah's 7-2 victory over Worcester.
The First Round Selection (25th overall) of the Stars in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft is ranked #43 on the Future Watch list.
