Reading Royals News Release

(Reading, PA) – The Reading Royals released goaltender Scott Fankhouser and picked up Philadelphia native Brandon Snee. Fankhouser appeared in 26 games with the Royals posting an 11-12-1 mark. His goals against average was 3.86 and his save percentage was .888.

Royals coach David Lohrei said Fankhouser's release was good for him and the team, "We weren't playing Scotty much over the last month. We thought it would be better to part ways and let him pursue other opportunities.

Fankhouser's departure opened the door for the Royals to pick up Brandon Snee. Snee, under contract with the Hartford Wolfpack was reassigned to the Royals by the AHL club. The Philadelphia native appeared in two games with the Trenton Titans earlier this season. He posted two wins with a 2.40 GAA and .911 save percentage.

"Brandon is a very solid, hardworking young player. I look forward to having him help us in the near future as we battle for the playoffs," said Lohrei.

Snee attended The Hill School locally and played four seasons at Union College. He was drafted in the fifth round by the New York Rangers in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.
