Boardwalk Bullies Loan Forward Matzka to Cleveland

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. – The Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies of the East Coast Hockey League loaned forward Scott Matzka to the Cleveland Barons of the American Hockey League, it was announced today by Bullies Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Michael Haviland.

The Port Huron, Mich., native is fifth on the team in scoring with 41 points (15G, 26A) and is a plus-18 in 37 games this year. Matzka has six points (1G, 5A) and is a plus-5 in his last five games. Currently, the 6-0, 195-pound center is on an 10-game scoring streak with 15 points on seven goals and eight assists in his last 10 games.

The call-up marks the first for Matzka this season and is the second in his two-year professional career. Last season the 24-year old registered one goal in four games with the Grand Rapids Griffins.

Last year, his rookie season, Matzka tallied 52 points (17G, 35A) and racked up 97 penalty minutes in 63 games with the Bullies. In 12 playoff games, he earned 11 points (4G, 7A).

In other Bullies news, left wing J.F. Caudron returned from his one-game stint with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the AHL. The St. Hubert, Quebec, native tallied the game-winning goal in Bridgeport's 5-3 win against the Saint John Flames on Saturday.
